Simple Sweet and Sour Sauce

 

Makes about 4 cups  

¼ cup corn starch

¼ cup water

6 ounces pineapple juice

6 ounces water

½ cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup granulated sugar

¾ cups apple cider vinegar

½ cup ketchup

1 tablespoon soy sauce  

In a small bowl whisk ¼ cup corn starch and ¼ cup water until combined. Set aside.   In a medium saucepan, over medium high heat, combine remaining ingredients. Whisk to combine.  Bring sauce to a boil, cook for one minute.  Add corn starch mixture and cook until thick and shiny, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.   Set aside until ready to use,  refrigerate left overs.
