Valentine Cherry Salad

This is delicious, and can be used for a salad, or as a dessert.

1 large pkg. (6 oz.) cherry Jell-O
2 cups boiling water
1 can (20 oz.) cherry pie filling
1/2 tsp, cherry flavoring (optional)
12 large marshmallows
1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese
1/2 pint (1 cup) whipping cream

Stir to dissolve Jell-O in boiling water and add pie filling and flavoring, mixing in well. Put into a 9 x 13 inch dish and chill until firm. In double boiler, melt marshmallows with cream cheese. Cool. Whip cream with 1 tsp. vanilla and 2 tbsp. powdered sugar and fold into marshmallow mixture and spread over Jell-O. Chill for at least 2 hours.
