Tomato Salad
8 cups tomatoes, diced
1 cup onion, chopped
2 cups cucumbers, chopped
! tablespoon canning salt
1 cup celery, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup vinegar
1 Tablespoon mustard seed
1 Tablespoon horseradish
Put tomatoes, onions and cucumbers in a glass bowl and put 1 Tablespoon of canning salt over. Let sit overnight in refrigerator. Drain. Add 1 cup celery and green pepper, 1 tablespoon mustard seed and 1 Tablespoon horseradish to tomato mixture. Bring to a boil the ¾ cup sugar and ¾ cup vinegar. Cool and pour over tomato salad. This keeps a long time in the refrigerator.
