Refrigerator Dill Pickles

Put Sliced pickling cucumbers, onion slices, heads of dill and cloves of garlic in a gallon jar or plastic container.
Bring to a boil the following:
1 cup vinegar
3 cups water
¼ cup pickling salt
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon alum over sliced cucumbers, then add boiled brine. Cool and refrigerate. Will be ready to eat in 3-5 days.
(Do not add alum to brine…only sprinkle in over sliced cucumbers in the jars.
