Bread And Butter Pickles
3 sliced onions
6-8 sliced cucumbers
celery and carrots optional
4 cups sugar
4 cups white vinegar
1 1/2 tsp mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp celery seed
Bring last 6 ingredients to a boil. Pour over veggies in a 1 gallon jar. Turn jar over and shake well. Put in refrigerator. Turn and shake once a day for 10 days. Ready to eat then. They stay nice and crisp.
