Autumn Apple Salad

20 oz undrained crushed pineapple
2/3 C sugar
3 oz lemon Jell-O
8 oz cream cheese softened
2 C diced unpeeled apples
1 C chopped nuts
1 C whipped topping

In a saucepan combine pineapple and sugar. Bring to a boil. Boil for three minutes. Add Jell-O. Stir until dissolved. Add cream cheese. Stir until thoroughly combined. Cool. Fold in apples, nuts, and whipped topping.
