10 Minute Tomato Soup

2 cups crushed canned tomatoes
½ teaspoon baking soda
2 cups milk
2 Tablespoons margarine/butter
Onions, chopped (optional)
In a large, heavy saucepan, heat tomatoes until boiling. Remove from heat, add remaining ingredients, return to heat and cook on medium until margarine/butter is melted and the soup is heated through.
