Walnut Cake

½ cup butter, softened
½ cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 ½ cups flour
2 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cup buttermilk
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cup ground or chopped walnuts or black walnuts
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease and flour 9x13 pan. Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs; beat well. Stir in flour soda, salt, buttermilk and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake about 30 minutes. Frost with butter cream icing with added walnuts.
