Peach Cobbler

1 stick margarine/butter
1 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 C sugar
3/4 C milk
4 or 5 peaches
8 T sugar
1/2 C water

Melt margarine/sugar in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and milk.  Pour this batter into margarine/butter.  Spread peaches over batter.  Sprinkle eight tablespoons of sugar over top of peaches.  Pour water over evenly.  Bake in 350-degree oven for 50 minutes or until golden brown.  Serve warm with ice cream.
