Ice Cream Sandwiches

3 C rice Krispies
1/2 C brown sugar
1/2 C melted butter
2 C flaked coconut
1 C nuts, chopped
2 cans pie filling

Mix together and put half of mixture in buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.  Soften 1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream and spread over crumb mixture.   Put the other half of mixture over top of ice cream.  Freeze.  When ready to serve, heat two cans cherry pie filling and serve over top. (any fruit pie filling can be used)
