Homemade Pound Cake

 

2/3 cup butter

1 1/4 cups sugar

2/3 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups sifted flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

3 eggs

Instructions

Preheat oven to 300° F.

Cream butter and sugar.

Add milk and vanilla.

Blend well.

Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.

Beat thoroughly.

Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each one.

Pour into well-greased loaf pan.

Bake for one hour and 25 minutes. Serve warm with a homemade caramel sauce, butter, or spoon strawberries over it.
