Drop Donuts

1/2 C mashed potatoes
1/4 C sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 C sour cream
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 C flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder

In a bowl combine first five ingredients. Next mix together all dry ingredients then stir into potato mixture. Deep fry until golden brown, the oil should be 375 degrees but test by placing one donut in the heated oil and when it immediately rises to the top, the oil it hot enough. When done roll in powdered sugar. Best served warm.
