Cheap Cherry Cake

2 eggs

1 cup sugar

1 cup cream or whole milk

2 teaspoon baking powder

2 cups flour

2 cup cherries, plus ½ cup sugar if cherries are sour

Pinch of salt

1 teaspoon  vanilla

Beat eggs, sugar and cream/milk together.  Sift baking powder, flour and salt together, add to creamed misture.  Add vanilla.

Add 2 cups cherries and mix

Put in sprayed 9x 13” pan.  Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 minutes.   Good served with a dollop of Cool Whip)

(My Dad’s mother had cherry trees and made this often.  )
