How Long Should I Thaw a Frozen Turkey?

Size of Turkey

8 - 12 pounds:  Thawing in the refrigerator  1 to 2 days, Thawing in cold water 4 to 6 hours

12 - 16 pounds: Thawing in the refrigerator  2 to 3 days, Thawing in cold water 6 to 8 hours 

16 - 20 pounds:  Thawing in the refrigerator 3 to 4 days, Thawing in cold water  8 to 10 hours 

20 - 24 pounds: Thawing in the refrigerator  4 to 5 days , Thawing in cold water10 to 12 hours
