Yummy Homemade Danish
2 packages refrigerated crescent rolls (8 in each)
1 package cream cheese (8 oz)
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
½ teaspoon vanilla or almond extact
1 can pie filling
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Unroll crescent dough and separate into 16 triangles. On large round baking stone or cookie sheet arrange 12 triangles(forming a circle). Press seams together and then form a slight ridge along the outer edge. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, yolk and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Spread evenly over prepared crust, almost to the edges. Then spread fruit filling over this. Cut each remaining dough piece (there will be 4 left over) into three strips. Arrange strips on top of fruit filling, crimping the outer edges to the ridge you made on the bottom of the dough. Bake 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Make sure the middle is done. Make a glaze by mixing about ½ cup powdered sugar with 2-3 Tablespoons milk. Drizzle on top when Danish is cool. Cut with your pizza cutter.
