Cinnamon Pastries

The fresher the bread the better. 

Thin sliced bread (sandwich) 18 slices

1 8 oz. cream cheese

¼ cup sugar

1 egg yolk

Mix together well.

Mix in a separate bowl:

¾ cup sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Melt  1 stick butter in another bowl.

 

Spread cream cheese mixture on 18 slices of bread (don’t skimp).  Roll up each slice like a jelly roll and dip in butter or ( brush butter on with pastry brush).  Roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture.  Put on cookie sheet lined with wax paper and freeze.  These must be frozen when you put in oven to bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.

 

** REMEMBER** Must be frozen when you bake.  Refrigerate any leftovers, if any!!
