Batter Bread

½ cup +2 Tablespoons warm water

1 package active dry yeast

¼ cup shortening, melted

1 ½ cup flour

2 Tablespoons sugar

1 egg, beaten

½ teaspoon salt

 

Combine the yeast and  water. 

Add shortening, egg, sugar, salt and 1 cup flour to the yeast. 

Beat until smooth.  Add the rest of the flour, beat 5 minutes. 

Put in greased muffin tins, fill ½ full and let raise to top of cup. 

Bake 375 degree oven for 18-20 minutes.
