Sweet and Sour Meatballs

 

Ingredients

1/2 cup water

1/3 cup dark brown sugar

1/4 cup lemon juice

1 tbsp. ketchup

3/4 lb. lean ground beef

1 egg

1/4 cup dry bread crumbs

1/4 tsp. salt

Dash pepper

 

Directions

In medium saucepan, heat water, brown sugar, lemon juice and ketchup; heat to boiling.

 

Meanwhile, in medium bowl, combine beef, bread crumbs, egg and salt and pepper. shape into about 30 small meatballs.

Add to boiling sauce; Cook, covered, over low heat for about

15 minutes. Serve with toothpicks as an appetizer, or over steamed rice for a main dish.
