Korean Beef Bowl
1/3 C brown sugar, packed
1/4 C soy sauce
1 T sesame oil
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 T veg oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb ground beef
2 green onions, thinly sliced
cooked rice
Heat vegetable oil in large skillet over medium/high heat and cook garlic until fragrant, stirring frequently, about one minute. Add ground beef and brown. Drain excess fat. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, ginger, and crushed red pepper and stir until combined. Add green onions and stir in. Simmer until heated through and bubbly. Serve over rice. Note: this is fairly sweet. You might want to reduce brown sugar to 1/4 cup.
