Sponge Cake Recipe

 Makes a good strawberry shortcake

2 eggs

1-cup sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1-cup flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla

1 Tbs. Butter melted in 1/2 cup boiling hot milk

Mix all ingredients and pour into a greased and floured 9" square pan. Bake 23-35 mins at 350. Makes 1 9" layer.

To make Apple Cake

Peel and slice apples as if for pie. Put in pan and add a little sugar and water. Make sponge cake recipe and pour over apples.
