Rhubarb Nut Bread

1 ½ cups brown sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 ½ cups diced rhubarb

2/3 cup vegetable oil

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 ½ cups all purpose flour

½ cup chopped nuts

Mix together in order given.  Pour into well-greased loaf pan.  Sprinkle ½ cup sugar over top and 2 or 3 Tablespoons melted butter over top of sugar.  Bake 325 degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
