July 4th Firecracker Salad

1 (16 ounce) package beef frankfurters, sliced
2 Tablespoons butter
2 (15 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans, drained
4 green onions, chopped with tops
½ cup celery, chopped
½ cup green bell pepper, chopped
3 firm ripe tomatoes, peeled and diced
salt & pepper to taste
1 (18 ounce) bottle Zesty Italian dressing

Saute frankfurter slices in butter until lightly browned. Cool and mix with vegetables. Pour dressing over all and toss lightly to mix. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight. (Drain, if needed). Serve with corn chips or tortilla chips for an unusual picnic dish.
