Crockpot Split Pea Soup

1, 16 ounce package Dried Split Peas
2 Ham Hocks
1 Large Carrot, diced
1 Med Onion, diced
1 Rib Celery diced
8 Cups Water
1 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper

Combine all ingredients in crockpot/slow cooker.
Cover and cook on Low for 8 - 10 hours.
Remove ham hocks and break down; then return to soup.
