Peanut Crunch Bars

1 18 oz. yellow cake mix
1 stick softened butter ( = to 1/2 cup)
1 egg.

Mix and press into a buttered 9x13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 12-18 minutes or until lightly browned.

Remove from oven and cover with 2 cups mini-marshmallows. Return to oven till the marshmallows are melted. Watch carefully as they will burn.

Next step is to mix the topping in a saucepan as follows;

1 12 ounce bag of peanut butter chips
2 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup clear corn syrup ( better known as Karo)

Heat and stir till blended. Remove from heat and stir in quickly 2 cups of crispy rice cereal and 2 cups peanuts. Spread over the bars. It will be sticky and I usually have to butter my fingers and help get it spread more evenly.
