Peanut Butter Squares Recipe

 

1 cup butter-flavored Crisco

1 cup granulated sugar  

1 cup packed brown sugar

2/3 cup creamy peanut butter

2 eggs

1/3 cup cold water

1 tsp. vanilla

2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. salt  

Directions In large bowl for electric mixer, cream together the shortening, sugars and peanut butter.

Add eggs, one at a time, blending after each. Beat in vanilla and water.

Add dry ingredients and mix just till combined. Put batter into a greased 10 x 15 inch jelly roll pan.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, till golden brown on top and toothpick inserted in center, comes out clean.

Prepare frosting and put on while cookies are still warm. Cool completely and cut into squares.   

Icing:

1/3 cup butter, softened

2/3 cup creamy peanut butter

2 cups powdered sugar

1/3 cup milk

Beat together till smooth and creamy
