Cherry Mallow Cake

This cake is a snap to make because you use a mix. As the marshmallows melt, they rise to the top and make a glaze.

4 c mini marshmallows (about 3/4 of a 10 1/2 oz package)
1 package yellow cake mix
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13x9x2 baking pan with cooking spray. Lay the marshmallows evenly over the bottom of the pan. Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions. Pour the batter over the marshmallows. Spoon the cherry filling evenly over the cake batter. Bake for 45-50 minutes.

The top of the cake will be bubbly and the marshmallows will be sticky and will have risen to the top of the cake as a glaze. Remove pan from oven and cool. After cake is cool, cut into squares.
