Butter Sponge Cake

4 eggs

2 cups sugar

1 cup sweet milk

¼ cup butter

2 teaspoon baking powder

2 cups flour

Beat eggs and sugar together until light.  Bring milk and butter to a boil.  Add flour and baking powder to egg and sugar.  When mixed, add the hot milk and butter.  Mix.  Pour into an ungreased angel food cake pan and bake at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes or until done.

 

**NOTE** from Mary:  I put this in a 9” x 13” pan and it works too.
