Unstuffed Cabbage

1 to 1/2 pound  ground beef.(I use 1 1/2 pounds)

10 cups chopped cabbage Usually a large head is best.

1 cup to 1 1/2 cups cooked rice (I use instant)

1 medium onion, chopped

1/2 cup sour cream

2 cans (regular size) tomato soup

1 or 2  cups shredded cheddar or shredded Colby cheese

Mix the ground beef, rice and onion and sour cream well, and set aside.(Salt and pepper if desired)

Layer half the cabbage in a Pam sprayed 9x13" pan. Layer the beef mixture evenly on the cabbage.

Pat it down so it's evenly distributed. Top with the remainder of the cabbage. Spread the tomato soup on top.

Cover and bake till the cabbage is done and tender. (At least 1 1/2 hour) at 350.

When done, remove from oven and distribute the cheese on top.

The cheese will melt on it without returning it to the oven. Cut into the size you want.
