Overnight Coffee Cake

¾ cup white sugar

2/3 cup margarine

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ cup brown sugar

2 eggs

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup buttermilk

TOPPING:

¼ cup brown sugar

½ cup chopped nuts

¾ cup chopped dates

½ teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

Cream sugars and margarine in bowl.  Add eggs and beat.  Sift together dry ingredients; flour, etc.  Add to the sugar mixture, alternate with the buttermilk.  Pour into a greased and floured 9x 13” pan.  Mix together the ingredients for the topping and sprinkle over batter.  Cover and refrigerate overnight.  Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.  Very good for a brunch or bible study.
